Region I Nominating Committee consists of a Member, an Alternate, and a Reserve Alternate. The primary task of the Regional Nominating Committee is to facilitate Chapter “Delegates/Alternates” to select nominees for both Regional and Society positions. At the Region I Chapter Regional Conference (CRC), typically held the third week of every August, nominations are presented by the Chapters and discussed in a closed Caucus session and voted on in a closed Executive session. The Nominating Committee Member and Alternate attends the Winter Society meeting where final voting of all nominees occur.
The credo of the Nominating Committee is: “the office shall seek the person, rather than the person seek the office” because of this policy, the committee’s basic responsibility is to select those nominees who, it believes, can best serve the interest and objectives of both Region and Society.
